We are excited to announce that the Ignite team will be joining our fellow Cosmonauts at Berlin Cosmos Week for the second edition of the AwesomWasm Hackathon, from May 28th to 30th. This event promises to be a hub of innovation and collaboration for the CosmWasm and Cosmos community.

What’s new with Ignite x CosmWasm?

To further support the CosmWasm community, we recently released  the Ignite CosmWasm App. This app is designed to help you test and deploy CosmWasm smart contracts seamlessly within your Ignite CLI chain. The CosmWasm integration extends the CLI’s compatibility to support Rust and Wasm commands, simplifying the configuration of Wasm for your chain.

Getting Started with Ignite and Smart Contracts

If you’re new to Wasm, smart contracts or Rust, the creators of CosmWasm, Confio, have a wealth of resources to help you get started. We’ve put together the Ignite CosmWasm App README with instructions on integrating the App into your existing Ignite chain or scaffolding a new one.

Additionally, the newly launched Ignite Tutorials website offers a growing collection of educational content to support your journey as a blockchain builder. A great resource to begin with is the "How to Create CW20 on an Ignite Chain'' tutorial, which guides you through the process of creating, compiling, uploading, and transacting a CW20 token, providing you hands-on experience with the new CosmWasm app.

We recently hosted a Code With Us workshop where we guided attendees through the App setup and the CW20 token creation tutorial. The live coding session is invaluable for developers looking to deepen their understanding and practical skills with the new App. We’re hosting the Code With Us workshops, once a month, so stay tuned for when we announce the next edition.
